Secret Cove Homeowner’s Association
Board of Directors Meeting
July 28, 2011
A meeting of the Secret Cove Homeowner’s Association was held on July 28, 2011 at Moe’s Restaurant in Lexington, S.C. The directors attending were: Scott Adams, Lisa McAfee and Peggy Whitaker. Ellen Wong was unable to attend. A quorum was present.
The meeting was called to order by Scott Adams at 7:30 p.m.
The first item to be discussed was the Appearance Compliance Inspection Report that had been compiled by two of the directors. We discussed each item listed in the report and assigned the project to appropriate parties. Some of the items had to be deferred to another meeting. The list is quite long and is attached to these minutes, along with the assignments for each task.
There has previously been some discussion about hiring a maintenance person to handle some of the painting and other maintenance items not covered by the landscaping contractor and those items are marked by (???). The decision to hire this person and the responsibilities that would be assigned to him/her was deferred to the next board meeting.
Scott reports that the traffic and trash at the boat ramp continues to be a problem that seems to have no good solution. The board agreed to contact some sign companies about having a sign with emergency numbers posted at the boat ramp gate. Peggy is to call “Personalized Things for You” and get an estimate on a sign.
The neighborhood is still in need of a Social Committee Chairman and a Crime Watch Committee Chairman.
In the absence of a Social Committee Chairman, the board discussed the possibility of having a neighborhood cook-out which would tentatively be held on the week-end after school starts. Lisa and Scott will make some contacts to find a “Pull-behind” grill that we might be able to use for cooking hot dogs and hamburgers. More to follow on this item.
Lisa reported that Brent Mackey was going to get quotes on having “roll curbs” put in, but no report, as yet.
Scott will discuss with Clay Posey and Richard Martin the possibility of removing the poles and trees at the boat ramp in order to provide more turn room for boats.
Minutes from previous meeting were approved as read.
Respectfully submitted,
Peggy Whitaker, Secretary
