August/September 2007 Minutes

The HMA board met at President William Floyd's home on August 28,2007 @ 7pm. William Floyd, Lisa McAfee(secretary), Bob Friarson(architectural review), and Judy Gallagher(website,crime watch,titles&platts) attended.

Architectural Review Report

344 Daylily Drive was approved for pool installation 333 Barberry Dr. was approved for addition to back of home and backyard area 301 Barberry Dr. was approved for tree trimming/removal due to splitting off of two large branches

141 Secret Cove Dr. to be reviewed for an addition and pool

Social

Not represented. However, had phone report from Jennifer Felkel regarding the "movie night". The event was cancelled due to lack of interest and outside temperature. Their committee is still trying to organize a Welcome basket for new neighbors and would appreciate any ideas and help with delivery.

Boat Storage

Not represented. Plans and actions are continuing toward renovation of boat storage area. These plans may be found in last months minutes and Vol. 2 of the Scoop newsletter. Brent Mackie is now on this committee.

Landscaping

Not represented. Mr. Friarson did note he had spoken with Mr. Ross(chair) and they agreed that the refurbishing of the islands should be postponed until after the heat and drought situation.

Crime Watch

Judy Gallagher has been actively pursuing our new "sheriff in town". This is a woman and she is very busy. The committee is going to go to Sheriff's office for more information. The web page will now list any crimes committed in our area. Please take note.

Soccer Field Utilization

Not represented. No report given.

Pool Study

Not represented. No new reports per Mr. Floyd.

Web Site

Stuart Anderson and Lisa McAfee held a meeting of the website committee on 8/27 @ 7:30pm. The meeting was attended by one new neighbor and email ideas were received from two. The topic was getting more information onto our website. We listed several interests: neighborhood "bio" for prospective buyers and agents, neighborhood services/car washing,dog walking, yard work, babysitting,etc., forum/referral page for professional work you have had done at your home, counter for # of hits to be used in a website promotion for more users,and a classified section for selling goods or hiring neighborhood services. Officer Reports

  • President- discussed boat storage plans
  • Vice President- not in attendance, phone report on solar lighting for dock-see old business
  • Treasurer- not in attendance, business to attend to: 335 Daylily Drive owns this property
  • and has not received a statement for homeowners dues. Will contact Mrs. Talwin.
  • Secretary-received the call re: 335 Daylily Dr., sent out latest issue of Scoop

Old Business

Dock Lighting- previously discussed, Amber Bland looked into solar lights which could be installed on the support poles of the dock and possibly put along the drive down the ramp. Bob Friarson suggested that these lights be of high quality so they would last longer and put out more light. He is to contact Amber with information regarding these type of lights.

New Business

  1. Discussed a neighbor event called- Meet the Board. Possibly to be held at the soccer field or someone's home in case of weather. Date tentatively set for Friday September 14th at 6:30pm
