SECRET COVE SCOOP Vol. 1 June 2007
Secret Cove’s new .com
Friends and neighbors! We now have a website! Many thanks to Stuart Anderson, Lisa McAfee and Judy Gallagher who have worked together to create an online environment for our neighborhood. The website will keep you up to date on your board members and meetings, neighborhood concerns, social events, and much more! It will also allow you email access to all board members and committee chairs. One very important item that will be found on our website is the combination to the boat ramp lock. You can only access this through the website with a password. Please go to www.secretcove.org and sign up today!
From the president…
DOGS vs. NEIGHBORS
We have received complaints about dogs leaving their owners yards, trespassing into others, being very aggressive and even biting people. Dogs make good pets, but they are also a legal responsibility for their owners. If you have a dog, please control it. Keep it in your yard. If it leaves, it should be on a leash. Also, respect your neighbors’ yards – to put it bluntly, don’t allow your dog to poop in another neighbor’s yard. Accidents happen, but if they do, poop scoop. Finally, and most seriously, there is no place in our neighborhood for aggressive, dangerous dogs who leave their yard and try to harm others. Violators will be reported to Lexington County Animal Control # 785-8149 and subject to county fines of up to $1,000 per dog in addition to other legal liability.
Lake access improvements
Our neighborhood’s dock has been totally renovated! There is new planking, a great sitting area, and pylons with rollers that make it easier to temporarily moor your boat while you return your trailer. There’s also a new gate at the boat ramp. The gate will protect our neighborhood’s investment, reduce vandalism, and reserve access to homeowners only. Many thanks to Scott White, the Chairperson of our Boat Storage Committee, for supervising the installation of the new gate. The gate will be locked. The combination will be posted on the neighborhood’s new web site, www.secretcove.org
Secret Cove socials
The social committee has been hard at work planning fun outings for our families. The Family Fun Day held on Sunday, April 29 was a huge success! New faces and lots of fun. July will bring a fabulous 4th cookout and kids parade to be held at the soccer field. Lots more events are scheduled and the committee would love your ideas. Just logon to www.secretcove.org for the complete season calendar!
