Greetings to all,
Unless you were among the 20 or so people in attendance at our annual HOA meeting or you have visited our website you probably don't know who the current board members are.
As your new president, let me introduce myself. My name is Brad Clary. I reside at 212 Wild Azalea Court with my wife Pam and our son Payne.
The rest of the board members are Lisa McAfee-vice president, Judy Gallagher-secretary and Ingrid Talwin- treasurer.
Our committee chairs are Jennifer Felkel & Dana Higgins-social, Richard Martin-boat & storage, Frank Killian- architecture review, Pam Clary-landscape and Amy Platt- community watch.
I encourage each of you to take interest in your neighborhood by attending the annual meeting as well as other meetings held throughout the year. All of our committee chairs are in need of some willing volunteers to help out. Also, I hear the social committee is busy planning great events for us this year.
Part of this memo is to address some complaints that I have received since becoming your president in January. As president it is my responsibility to address any complaints voiced by our property owners.
First, everyone should have a copy of the covenants. These were placed in your mailboxes for the last 2 years. If you do not have a copy please contact the Treasurer. They were established long before any one of us bought property in Secret Cove and were established for the benefit and protection of each of us as property owners. Therefore it is our responsibility to make every attempt to abide by them.
1st complaint: I have been asked to remind everyone that boats, etc. are not to be left on your property for more than a few days unless shielded from view as per the covenants. You should know if you are in violation of this and make every effort to comply.
2nd complaint: I have also been asked to remind everyone about parking. Our cars should be parked in our garages (if we are lucky enough to have room) or driveways. I know that as we have company etc. that it becomes necessary to park in the street. We all understand this and it is not a problem. However, parking in our yards and common areas needs to be avoided. This makes our neighborhood look very unkempt and affects the property values of each of our homes. Please help us with this.
3rd complaint: Dead trees and debris. If you have dead trees and debris in your yard it makes the entire neighborhood look bad. The HOA does have the right to have these concerns addressed at the expense of the property owner. Please, let's all work together to prevent the board from having to act in this manner.
Also, Richard Martin has his hands full trying to provide space in our boat & trailer storage lot. This lot is intended for the use by Secret Cove property owners only to have a place to store boats & trailers that are actively being utilized. It seem to be turning into a salvage yard. If you have anything parked in the boat & trailer storage lot,- boat, boat trailer, utility trailer, camper, etc. you need to contact Richard by May 31st. Any boat , boat trailer, utility trailer, or camper, etc. not identified and updated with Richard by May 31st may be deemed to be abandoned and is subject to removal. If you have an inactive boat or trailer please be considerate of your neighbors who need a place to park their active boats, trailers etc. Richard may be reached @ 620-2047 or through the email link on the Boat Committee page.
Again, I ask everyone to become active in our neighborhood. Secret Cove is a great place to live. We have a lot to offer and we have great neighbors!
Please attend a meeting or contact a board member or committee chairperson and offer to volunteer. It is a great way to meet neighbors and build friendships.
If you have any suggestions to help make Secret Cove better, general comments or questions feel free to contact me @ 358-6828 or use email link from the Board page.
Hope to see you at one of our social function of meetings or around the neighborhood.
Thanks, Brad
